A furoshiki is a Japanese wrapping cloth that has been used for centuries to carry and gift everyday objects. No tape, no waste, just a single piece of fabric tied with care.

This design is split between bold red and white. By changing how you wrap it and which section you expose, the furoshiki can read as predominantly red or predominantly white. Two looks, one cloth.

Both patterns carry meaning. The red side features a tortoiseshell pattern, known as kikkō in Japanese, it's a geometric design of interlocking hexagons inspired by the shell of a tortoise, symbolizing long life and good health. The white side is accented with a delicate hemp leaf pattern, rendered in fine gold lines. The hemp leaf symbolizes healthy growth and protection.

It is particularly well suited for celebratory occasions, weddings, New Year, graduations, or any moment that calls for something a little more formal and considered.

Hare Tsutsumi is Musubi's series designed specifically for celebratory wrapping. Hare no Hi refers to joyous occasions in Japanese culture, and this series draws on traditional motifs like pine, bamboo, plum, and mizuhiki to create furoshiki that feel appropriate for life's more significant moments.
