A furoshiki is a Japanese wrapping cloth that has been used for centuries to carry and gift everyday objects. No tape, no waste, just a single piece of fabric tied with care.

This design by Kata Kata features two cats completely absorbed in a ball of pink yarn. One is perched on top, the other tumbling alongside it, yarn unraveling in every direction. Small butterflies are scattered in the corners. It is playful and a little chaotic in the best way, exactly what cats are like.

A natural gift for cat lovers, or anyone who appreciates illustration with a sense of humor. It also works well as an everyday bag or a wrap for casual gifts.

This is the lightest furoshiki in our collection. The water-repellent finish makes it practical for everyday use, bags, outdoor picnics, or keep it on hand for sudden light rain.

Make It a Gift - Free Furoshiki Wrapping

Giving tea or matcha as a gift?

Make it extra special with our complimentary furoshiki gift wrapping service. Simply add a furoshiki to your cart and select “Yes” for “Wrap my order with this furoshiki.” We’ll beautifully wrap your selected tea or matcha, ready for a sustainable and memorable gift.

Our default wrapping style is the traditional Square Knot (Ma-musubi), creating a simple, elegant presentation that is both secure and easy to untie.

If your order includes more items than can fit in one furoshiki, the gift-wrapping option will still be available. Simply leave a note at checkout indicating which items you’d like wrapped. For wrapping capacity and size guidelines, please see the detailed instructions.

A reusable Japanese furoshiki is a beautiful, zero-waste alternative to single-use gift wrap and can be enjoyed again and again for gifting, carrying items, or everyday use.

Why We Offer Free Furoshiki Gift Wrapping

Every gift tells a story. We hope ours tells one of kindness, not only to the person receiving it, but also to the planet we all share.

Too much single-use plastic is used for gift wrapping that lasts only moments before becoming waste.Every year, more of it finds its way into our rivers, lakes, and oceans, where it remains for generations. We believe a beautiful gift shouldn’t leave a lasting mark on nature.

That’s why we offer complimentary furoshiki gift wrapping. When you choose a Japanese furoshiki, we’ll wrap your tea or matcha gift at no extra charge. You’re purchasing a beautiful, reusable wrapping cloth, not a disposable decoration.

Unlike plastic gift wrap, a Japanese furoshiki is made to be used again and again. It can be reused for future gifts, carrying lunch boxes or bottles, organizing everyday essentials, decorating the home, or shopping. It’s a simple choice that helps reduce waste while creating a gift that’s both elegant and meaningful.

Choose a reusable furoshiki and give a gift that keeps giving to your loved one and to our planet.

About AQUA DROP & Kata Kata

AQUA DROP is Musubi's water repellent furoshiki series, designed for everyday use in all weather. The coated surface repels water to protect whatever you are carrying, and doubles as a picnic sheet or table mat. If the water-repellent effect weakens over time, a medium heat iron brings it back.

Kata Kata is the creative duo of Takeshi Matsunaga and Chie Takai, known for their work in stencil dyeing using a traditional Japanese technique called Chusen. Their designs have been exhibited internationally and bring a distinctly playful illustrative quality to a centuries-old craft.
