Oolong Tea Syrup
If you love the roasted aroma of a good oolong, turning it into a simple syrup is the easiest way to elevate your morning iced lattes. It's easy and fills an OXO 175ml (6oz) squeeze bottle. This method is also very versatile, you can use Earl Grey, jasmine, or any tea you love to make your own custom tea syrup!
Ingredients (Yields ~175 ml)
- 9g Oolong Tea (loose leaves or 3 tea bags)
- 120ml Boiling water
- 100g White granulated sugar
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Brew a Punchy Tea Concentrate
Combine 120 ml of hot water with your tea. Steep for 5 to 7 minutes to pull out all those deep, roasted tea notes. Squeeze the tea bags (or strain the loose leaves) to get every last drop.
2. Dissolve the Sugar
While the tea is still piping hot, add 100 g of sugar. Stir until the crystals completely melt into a glossy syrup. If the tea isn't hot enough, you can warm it on the stovetop or in the microwave to help the sugar dissolve.
3. Cool & Bottle
Let the syrup cool on the counter, then pour into your storage container. Store in the fridge.
The best part about this ratio is how flexible it is, you can add more or less according to your taste. Since the sugar is already dissolved, it blends effortlessly into iced lattes, cocktails, and desserts. Keep a bottle in the fridge and elevate your daily drinks in seconds!
